I have received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, and psychodynamic modalities. In working with you, I will draw on these perspectives to develop an approach uniquely tailored to your individuality and your circumstances. I aim to create a safe environment for you, one in which curiosity and insight can flourish in the service of a more meaningful life. I emphasize the value of mindfulness on mental and physical health, and in emotion regulation. The forms of psychotherapy that appeal to me offer opportunities to cultivate mindfulness, a nonjudgmental attitude toward oneself and one’s experiences.
I specialize in work with individuals suffering from mood disorders, addiction, and trauma, and young people presenting with issues specific to the LGBTQ community. I have a particular sensitivity for the dilemmas of adolescents and young adults as they struggle to find “true self” expression integrated with the many demands for compromise and conformity they face, both externally and internally.
